Hello! My name is Meredith Johnson, a Physical Therapist with over 20 years of experience, and I passionately believe that ‘Movement is Medicine’! I love helping clients regain health and pain free movement. What sets me apart from other PTs is my desire to listen and really hear your issues, my mastery of applying manual techniques to reduce pain and restore movement, and my ability to develop an exercise regimen that reflects your fitness level and recovery goals. I do not use a ‘one size fits all' template for Home Exercise Programs - my treatments are specifically developed for the patient’s individual needs. Each client has a life story that uniquely impacts their body, affecting posture and movement patterns. I work on this ‘puzzle’ between musculoskeletal and nervous systems to help restore ease and movement back into your life.
I am an Alabama native and an Army brat! I graduated from the University of Alabama in 1997 with a BS in Sports and Fitness Management. I received my Master of Physical Therapy degree from Emory University in 2000. I am a Military spouse, who has practiced Physical Therapy, Exercise Physiology and Personal Training across the United States - Georgia, Colorado, Virginia, Kentucky, Hawaii, Alabama - and in Japan. I have experience working in Outpatient Sports Medicine, Neurologic Rehabilitation, Pediatrics, Wellness, Inpatient and Acute Care settings.
These varied experiences enabled my growth in tailoring treatments to fit individual needs. I incorporate detailed knowledge of both musculoskeletal and nervous systems whenever I work with a client, and I understand how acute injuries plus routine activities can impact the ability of these body systems to function correctly. My goal is always to help you restore balance and pain free movement throughout your body, and help you return to your Life!
My treatment sessions combine multiple techniques, including: Manual therapy, Myofascial release and Cupping, Functional movement training, Postural assessment, Flexibility and Strength Training, and Ergonomics Assessment. I consistently educate clients on techniques to incorporate into daily routines to reduce risk of re-injury.
